This is an intricate, multi-layer map of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The map has four layers, laser cut from different woods, each selected to add contrast and warmth to the piece. The front title layer is engraved mahogany. The track layer is cut from white birch and features both the oval and road race courses. The track is engraved with a fine racing stripe and checkered flag. Streets and service roads are cut from a layer of thick draftboard. The lower level features engraved buildings, bleachers, ponds, walking paths, and other details in and around the circuit.
