Mark Rouse has loved painting and photography since he was a young teenager. After teaching for seven years, he embarked on a career in the computer industry. He became a lazy painter, only producing a couple works a year. Then, in 2015, he was pronounced legally blind. Diabetic Retinopathy stole his ability to see and to create art. He determined then that he would find a way to create images of the things he loves, using the tools he could find. He was blessed by a great doctor and the prayers of many persons who loved him. His sight has recovered and is now stable, allowing him to create again. As he recovered, he developed a style that incorporated watercolor, acrylic, markers and digital rendering into pieces of vibrant mixed media work that reflected the things he loves. You can learn a lot about him by looking at the things he paints.
